Flagler finishes in fourth place at the PBCs

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Flagler College men's golf team finished in fourth place with an even-par 864 (292-284-288) at the Peach Belt Conference Championship, which ended this afternoon at the Forest Hills Golf Club (par 72; 7,086 yards).

Tomas Cavanagh earned all-tournament honors after finishing in a tie for fourth place with a 3-under 213 (72-68-73), which was a season-best 54-hole score. He had 12 birdies in the tournament, which was tied for sixth-most. Cavanagh also had 33 pars. Dylan Mason and Joel Petersson finished in a tie for 10th place with an even par 216.

No. 15-ranked (SCOREBOARD by clippd ranking) USC Beaufort led wire-to-wire and claimed its first conference title with a 13-under 851 (279-282-290). No. 11 USC Aiken finished in second place with a 5-under 859 (286-285-288). No. 3 University of North Georgia moved up two places to finish third with a 2-under 862 (291-287-284). Following Flagler was No. 5 Georgia Southwestern State University with a 3-over 867 (292-283-292).  No 12 Columbus State University finished in sixth place with an 8-over 872 (293-293-286). No. 16 Lander University wound up in seventh place with a 27-over 891. Georgia College & State University rounded out the field in eighth place with a 39-over 903.  

Erik Rengardt of USCB took home medalist honors as he topped the 40-man field with a 9-under 207 (67-69-71). Erik Olin if USC Aiken trailed by three strokes with a 6-under 210 (71-66-68).

Nic Eberhard tied for 19th place with a 3-over 219 (75-72-72). Matthew French played in the final round and shot a 1-over 73.
