AMERICUS, Ga. - The No. 5-ranked (ITA Division II Top 50) Flagler College women's tennis team defeated their final Peach Belt Conference opponent of the regular season, Georgia Southwestern State University 7-0 this afternoon at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.
Flagler closes out the season with a 5-1 record in the conference and a 18-4 record overall. The Saints clinched at least a share of their fourth consecutive regular season title. Georgia Southwestern suffered its eighth loss of the season, moving to 3-8 and 0-5 in conference. Up next for the Saints is the Peach Belt Conference Tournament, April 25-27, at Columbus, Georgia. 
In doubles, all matches were completed in favor of the Saints. No. 6 
Dana Heimen and 
Anastasia Nikolova swept Monique Gundrum and Ustina Schyslionak. To seal the doubles point, 
Laura Jipescu and 
Eryka Kruk defeated Mabry Bowron and EmmaRae Smith 6-1. 
Sofia Balsera and 
Adela Latalova had the final doubles match win against Madeline Barnes and Melissa Duarte with a score of 6-4.
In singles play five out of the six courts had their opponents score two or less points. Jipescu dominated Smith for the Saints first singles point with a 6-0 and 6-0 match. Three Saints defeated their opponents in two 6-1 sets. Latalova took her match against Schyslionak first, followed by No. 7 Heimen over Gundrum for the match winning point. Kruk followed close behind with her win after Balsera defeated Bowron 6-1 and 6-0. The final win of the match came from No. 47 Nikolova who took down Duarte, 6-2 and 6-1.
