No. 2 Saints finish in fifth place at Lynn Invite

Stranda and Jelinek finish in top 15

BOCA RATON, Fla. – No. 2 (SCOREBOARD Division II team ranking) Flagler College finished in fifth place with a 20-over par 884 (296-294-294) at the Lynn Invitational, which wrapped up today at the Boca Woods Country Club (par 72; 6,272 yards).

Henriette Stranda, ranked No. 7 by SCOREBOARD, finished in a tie for sixth place with an even par 216 (71-70-75). Stella Jelinek, ranked No. 6, tied for 11th place with a 3-over 219 (75-74-70).

No. 8 Lynn University topped the 14-team field with a 2-under 862 (293-281-288). The Fighting Knights won by 10 strokes. No. 9 Grand Valley State University finished in second place with an 8-over 872 (291-291-290). No. 4 Dallas Baptist University followed in third place with a 10-over 874 (296-293-285). No. 11 Lee University finished in fourth place with a 19-over 883 (294-298-291). Thirteen teams in the field were in the top 25.    

Jordan Karrh of Dallas Baptist earned medalist honors as she led the 77-woman field with a 6-under 210 (69-70-71). She edged Amelia Ruiz on Lynn by one stroke. Ruiz carded a 5-under 211 (73-68-70). Olivia Stoll of Grand Valley State finished in third place with a 3-under 213 (68-71-74). Two golfers tied for fourth place with a 2-under 214.

Bhoomi Jagtap tied for 26th place with an 8-over 224 (74-75-75). Tabitha Hanely and Jordyn Hodgson both tied for 41st place.

Up next for the Saints is the Peach Belt Conference Tournament, April 18-20, at the Forest Hills Golf Course in Augusta, Georgia.
