Saints climb up to No. 5

ST. AUGUSTINE - In the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II poll, the Flagler College women's tennis team moved up one spot to No. 5. Two Saints are ranked in singles, while one pair is ranked in doubles.

For the first time since the Mar. 20, 2024 rankings, the Saints crack the top five. Since the last poll, the Saints went 3-0 at home. Their toughest match came against the University of Charleston where the Saints won 5-2. In matches against Saint Anslem College and Lenoir-Rhyne University, the Saints swept.

Dana Heimen reached the highest point in her career thus far, claiming the No. 3 spot in singles. Since the last poll, Heimen is 5-2 in singles. Anastasia Nikolova is ranked for the first time in her career, placing her at No. 67 with a current record of 5-2.

In doubles, the pairing of Heimen and Nikolova debuts at No. 35 spot. The duo sports a 6-1 record, with their best win coming against No. 8 Wingate University's Chloe Kosmrlj and Daniela Kotara, 6-1.

Rounding out the remaining top five is No. 4 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, No. 3 Barry University, No. 2 University of North Georgia and at No. 1 is Midwestern State University.
