EATONTON, Ga. – Flagler College finished in 11
th place with a 39-over par 879 (298-293-288) at the Bobcat Invitational, which wrapped up this afternoon at the Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee (par 70; 6,730 yards).
The regular season finale for the Saints is the Argonaut Invitational, April 7-8, at Pensacola, Florida.
No. 2-ranked (SCOREBOARD Division II Top 25) University of North Georgia led the 15-team field with a 1-over 841 (283-282-276). The Nighthawks edged out No. 3 University of West Florida by two strokes. The Argonauts finished with a 3-over 843 (279-287-277). No. 8 Lee University finished third with a 9-over 849 (290-279-280). No. 9 USC Aiken claimed fourth place with a 13-over 853 (285-286-282) while No. 13 Columbus State University jumped four spots to finish in fifth place with an 18-over 858 (294-280-278).
Topping the 75-man field was TJ Thompson of West Florida. He carded a 4-under 206 (68-70-68). Thompson held off two golfers, Erik Olin of USC Aiken and Victor Larsson of Lander University. Both golfers finished with a 2-under 208, but Larsson's final round 67 catapulted him seven spots. Nick Goellner of USC Aiken and Alexander Nilehn of Valdosta State University finished in a tie for fourth place with a 1-under 209. Goellner was the biggest mover of the day as his 5-under 65 improved his spot on the leaderboard by 17 places.
Dylan Mason tied for 34
th place with an 8-over 218 (75-69-74) to lead the Flagler contingent.
Tomas Cavanagh and
Matthew French finished in a tie for 36
th place with a 9-over 219. His three-round tally was a season-best. Cavanagh's 54-hole score was a season-best.
Joel Petersson tied for 60
th place with a 17-over 227 (74-77-76). Rounding out the team was
Rocco Randazzo who shot a 20-over 230 (81-77-72).
