DESTIN, Fla. – No. 3 (SCOREBOARD Division II Top 25) Flagler College won its second consecutive Emerald Coast Collegiate title in school record fashion with an 8-under par 844 (287-276-281) at the Sandestin Resort and Club (par 71; 6,125 yards).
The final regular season tournament for the Saints will be the Lynn Invitational at Boca Woods in Boca Raton, Florida, March 31-April 1.
The 54-hole score (844) beat the record set last year at the NCAA Division II National Championship by seven strokes.
Henriette Stranda topped the 96-woman field with a 9-under 204 (69-65-70) and topped teammate
Stella Jelinek by two strokes. Last year, the roles were reversed as Jelinek edged Stranda by four strokes. Stranda's 204 broke the program's 54-hole score record by one stroke. Jelinek shot a 205 at last year's Emerald Coast Collegiate. Stranda finished with 16 birdies, one eagle, and 29 pars. Jelinek tied her career-low round with a 5-under 66 in the final round.
No. 14 West Texas A&M University finished 14 strokes behind Flagler in second place. The Lady Buffaloes shot a 6-over 858 (284-289-285). The University of West Florida finished in third place with a 25-over 877 (296-295-286). Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University leapfrogged into fourth place with a 33-over 885 (304-295-286). There was a tie for fifth place between No. 20 University of Missouri-St. Louis and No. 8 St. Mary's University (Texas) with a 34-over 886.
Loa Johansson of Embry-Riddle finished in third place with a 3-under 210 (71-70-69). Sarah Reed of West Texas A&M and Alia Scotka of West Florida tied for fourth place with a 2-under 211.
Tabitha Hanely tied for 19
th place with a 7-over 220 (77-69-74), which is a season-best 54-hole score.
Bhoomi Jagtap finished in a tie for 28
th place with a 10-over 223 (75-77-71). Her even par 71 in the final round and the three-round score of 223 were season bests.
Jordyn Hodgson tied for 32
nd place with a 12-over 225 (75-70-80).
NOTE: The following records for Flagler were broken: 54-hole team score, 54-hole individual score, 54-hole individual score vs. par, all-time team round (276, second round), and all-time individual round (Stranda's 65 in the second round).
