ST. AUGUSTINE –
Tymoteusz Pszczola scored a career high 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field to help Flagler College edge Georgia Southwestern State University 71-70 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at Flagler Gym.
Flagler won its second consecutive one-point game and improved to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the Peach Belt. Georgia Southwestern has lost three-of-its-last-four games and dropped to 6-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
The Saints held their largest lead, 67-58, after a pair of
Tariq Daughton free throws with 1:21 left in the game. The Hurricanes closed the game on a 12-4 run, but came up just short. JR Jacobs' three-pointer with less than a second left got the GSW to within a point.
Daughton finished with 12 points and seven rebounds while
Jordan Smith tacked on 12 points.
Camden Andrews tallied nine points and dished out five assists.
Jacobs led the Hurricanes with 20 points. Markel Freeman added 14 points while Amir Reaves contributed 13 more. Deonte Williams finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Hasani Rivera grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
