Katherine Rank led the Flagler College volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-10, 25-10) sweep tonight against Middle Georgia University at the Flagler Gymnasium.
The Saints extended their conference lead to 10-2 and 17-11 overall. The Knights dropped to 0-12 in conference and 6-18 overall. The two will play each other again tomorrow at 3 p.m. as the Saints host their annual "Senior Day" match.
Rank led the Saints offense with a career high .625 hitting percentage on a match high 10 kills. Defensively, Rank was two of two Saints to tie the match high in blocks with two.
Cassidy Bloom and
Marley Middlebrooks tied with nine kills each. Middlebrooks found success elsewhere, leading the Saints in digs with nine and a match high three aces.
Clare Sheedy posted another match high, 34 assists.
Graysen Lallier was one of three knights, Ellison Johnson and Mia Matheney, to register two blocks. Lallier also led the Knights with two aces. Matheney led the visitor's attack with nine kills as well. Aubrie Beard and Johnson put in a near equal effort on assists, with Beard registering 12 and Johnson with 11. Paige Collier finished with a match high 12 digs.
