Saints take down the Bearcats to become the co-regular season conference champions

GREENWOOD, S.C. - Katherine Rank led the Flagler College volleyball team to victory this afternoon after defeating Lander University 3-1 (25-22, 25-17, 19-25, 25-21) at Horne arena.

The Saints secured a piece of the Peach Belt Conference regular season title with the win, sharing the title with Augusta University. With this win the Saints enter the conference tournament as the No. 1 seed and will receive a first round bye in the tournament. To close out the regular season, the Saints move 19-12 overall and 12-3 in conference. The Bearcats move to 18-9 overall and 10-5 overall. The conference tournament will begin Friday, Nov 21 but the Saints will not compete until Saturday, Nov. 22.

Rank ended the match as the team leader in kills with 14. Rank also found a piece in two blocks. Meredith Dixon finished with a team high three blocks, two of which were solo. Marley Middlebrooks capped of the match with a double double, finding 10 kills and 11 digs. Clare Sheedy had a match high 40 assists while also notching six kills. Caity Clancy finished with a match high 17 digs.

As a team, the Saints registered 10 aces with four players getting two or more. Bella Schwantz had a match high three while Amelia Fitzpatrick, Clare Sheedy and Juliana Dusch each had two.

Katie Miller continued to lead the Bearcats with a double double. Miller finished with 18 kills and 13 digs while also finding one of the team's two aces. Enisilina Savelio went back to back games with a triple double as she recorded 10 kills, 29 assists and 10 digs. Emmi Cheek had a team high 14 digs. Amelia May had six total blocks while Savelio and Alyssa Tegeler had five individually.
