Terzoli leads the field after 36 holes and Saints hold in third place

ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The Flagler College women's golf team is in third place with a 21-over par 597 (295-302) at the end of the second round of the St. Simons Intercollegiate, which was played today at the King & Prince Golf Club (par 72; 5,801 yards). The final round will begin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.

Flagler's Sofia Terzoli leads the 100-woman field with a 4-under 140 (69-71). She led after the first round. She made par on the first six of seven holes. The lone hole she did not make par, she birdied (No. 4). Terzoli closed out the front side with a bogey and a birdie to make the turn at 1-under. She parred the first three holes on the back nine and then had two birdies to put her at 3-under. She made par putts on the next two holes before closing out with a pair of bogeys.

Tabitha Hanely is in a three-way tie for second place as she was yesterday, but with a 2-under 142 (71-71). She parred the first six holes before getting a bogey on No. 7. Hanely rebounded with a par and a birdie to finish the front nine at even par. She birdied No. 10 to go to 1-under and followed that with a par. A bogey and two pars kept her at even par through 14 holes. Hanely birdied No. 15 to go back to 1-under and made three pars to finish the round.

Wingate University holds a commanding 16-stroke leads over the 18-team field with a 1-under 575 (290-285). The University of West Florida follows in second place with a 15-over 591 (294-297). Carson-Newman University (+24) and Lincoln Memorial University (+25) follow Flagler.

Amely Bochaton of Wingate and Eve Neild of Lenoir-Rhyne University are tied for second place with Hanely with at 2-under.

Victoria Veator is tied for 38th place with a 10-over 154 (76-78). Addison King (+17) and Ida Petersen (+27) round out the team for the Saints. Halahn Lee shot 19-over as an individual.
