ALBANY, Ga. –
Paige Churchill recorded her third hat trick in her career in Flagler College's 8-0 triumph over Albany State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match Saturday afternoon at the ASU Soccer Complex.
Flagler evened its overall record to 6-6-3 and improved to 4-3-2 in the Peach Belt. Albany State dropped to 2-11-1 overall and 0-8-1 in conference play. The Saints head to Miami Shores, Florida on Wednesday to face Barry University in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
Brooke Rienecker got the Saints on the board in a hurry, just 43 second into the match. Churchill scored the next two goals while
Carrie Consolino,
Molly Kornblit,
Aiyana Leslie, and
Avery Raimondo all added first half goals. Churchill completed her hat trick with the lone goal of the second half.
Phoebe Carpenter and
Henley Grunst combined on the clean sheet. Carpenter recorded three saves in the first half while Grunst collected seven in the second half. Le Rodriguez Najera stopped 17 shots for the Lady Golden Rams.
Flagler out-shot Albany State 37-12 and held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks.
