Nic Eberhard and Dylan Mason tie for seventh place to lead Flagler

ST. AUGUSTINE – The Flagler College men's golf team finished in seventh place after carding a 37-over par 901 (304-304-293) at the 14th annual Jay Jennison Cup, which concluded Tuesday afternoon at The Palencia Club (par 72; 6,997 yards).

Up next for the Saints is the Shark Invitational (Oct. 7-8) at the Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie, Florida.

Nic Eberhard and Dylan Mason each shot a 2-over 218 and finished in a tie for seventh place in the season-opening tournament. Eberhard pocketed nine birdies to go along with 37 pars. Mason, in his collegiate debut, finished with 12 birdies, an eagle, and 28 pars. Mason tied for the lowest round in the tournament with a 5-under 67, which he shot in the second round.

Wingate led the 10-team field with a 9-over 873 (291-290-292). The Bulldogs maintained their 10-stroke lead over Rollins College (301-290-292) from yesterday. The Tars carded a 19-over 883. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University followed in third place with a 29-over 893. Lenoir-Rhyne University (894) and Newberry College (897) rounded out the top five.

Holt Allison of Lenoir-Rhyne topped the 58-man field with a 9-under 207 (70-70-67). His 5-under 67 in the final round helped him clinch the individual title. Fynn Loewe of Wingate finished in second place just four shots back with a 5-under 211 (70-72-69).

The Saints had enough players for two teams in the tournament. Julio Goti and Rocco Randazzo finished in a tie for 36th place with a 13-over 229. Joel Petesson (+14) and Roo Fenwick (+16) completed the "A' team's contingent. Grant Fisher, playing as an individual, finished in a tie for 20th place with a 9-over 225. Final results on the "B" team included Lucas Escudero (+13), Brian Berta (+15), Gabriele Romani (+24), and Tomas Cavanagh (+28). Flagler's other individual player was Matthew French who finished at 23-over.
