COLUMBUS, Ga. – No.8 (Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Division II Top 25) Flagler College blanked No. 10 Columbus State University 4-0 in a Peach Belt Conference Women's Tennis Tournament semifinal match Saturday afternoon at the John W. Walden Tennis Center.
Flagler improved to 14-4 overall Columbus State fell to 14-7. The Saints face No. 3 University of North Georgia in the championship match tomorrow at 10 a.m. This is a rematch of last year's title tilt which Flagler won, 4-1. The Saints have been in the last three conference tournament finals and won two (2021 and 2023).
The Saints took an early lead on the Lady Cougars after
Laura Jipescu and
Toni Pfeiffer edged Agostina Bigotti and Laura Pesickova, 7-5.
Nadja Meier and
Charlotta Buss shutout Isadora Oliveira and Yelena Labat in another match.
Meier, ranked No. 4 in the country, cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Mariana Ramirez.
Eryka Kruk won her sixth match in a row with a 6-2, 6-3 triumph over Oliveira. Buss wrapped it up with a 6-0, 4-6, 6-0 win over Pesickova.
