No. 3 Saints finish in second place at the Lady Moc Classic 2.0

Flagler trio finish in the top five

LAKELAND, Fla. – No. 3 (clippd Division II team ranking) Flagler College finished in second place at the 54-hole Lady Moc Classic 2.0, which concluded Tuesday. The Saints shot a 12-over par 876 (291-293-292) at The Club at Eaglebrooke Club (par 72; 6,029 yards).

Stella Jelinek, ranked No. 2 by clippd, finished in a tie for second place with No. 31 Jordyn Hodgson. Both golfers carded a 3-under par 213. Jelinek was fourth in birdies for the tournament with 12. Hodgson had nine and added 37 pars. This was Jelinek's sixth top five finish this year and Hodgson's third. No. 18 Henriette Stranda had her fifth top five finish as she tied for fourth place with a 2-under 214 (71-75-68). She had 38 pars and nine birdies and shot up the leaderboard with her 4-under 68 in today's final round.

Top-ranked Dallas Baptist University led the 16-team field with a 3-under 861 (293-284-284). They won by 15 strokes. No. 2 Nova Southeastern University and No. 15 Saint Leo University finished in a tie for third place with a 21-over 885. No. 12 Lynn University finished in fifth place with a 123-over 887 (287-299-303).    

Julia Garcia of Dallas Baptist topped the 95-woman field with a tournament-record 12-under par 204 (67-70-67). She won by nine strokes.

Shanya Arasu finished in a tie for 80th place with a 23-over 239 (82-80-77). Victoria Veator carded a 27-over 243 (79-83-81) and tied for 84th place. Sloane Siebert, playing as an individual, finished in 90th place with a 30-over 246 (85-83-78) to round out the Flagler golfers.

Up next is the Peach Belt Conference Championship, April 19-21, at the Forest Hills Golf Course in Augusta, Georgia.
