No. 7 Saints rally to finish in fourth place at the World Golf Invite

ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 7-ranked (Clippd Division II ranking) Flagler College women's golf team finished in fourth place with a 32-over par 896 (300-298-298) at the 12th annual World Golf Invitational, which ended today at the World Golf Village's Slammer & Squire Course (par 72; 6,049 yards).

The second round that was suspended yesterday due to darkness, was concluded today as well as the final round. Players dealt with 20 mph winds and cool temperatures on Tuesday.

Lynn University won its third World Golf Invitational title and its first since 2015. The No. 11-ranked Fighting Knights topped the 17-team field with a 20-over 884 (288-297-299). Finishing behind Lynn was No. 2 Rollins College. Top-ranked Nova Southeastern finished in third with a 31-over 895 (293-298-304).

Maia Samuelsson of Nova Southeastern led the 92-woman field with a 1-over 217 (70-74-73). She finished one stroke ahead of Flagler College's Stella Jelinek and Rollins College's Elizabeth Kondal. Jelinek finished with 32 pars and 11 birdies.

Jordyn Hodgson and Henriette Stranda finished in a tie for 17th place with a 10-over 226. Shanya Arasu carded a 13-over 229 while Sophie Wheeler completed the tournament with a 32-over 248.

Sloane Siebert and Victoria Veator played as individuals. Veator carded a 14-over 230 while Siebert finished with a 19-over 235.
