GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Flagler College women's indoor track and field team competed at the Celebration Pointe Classic at the Alachua County Sports Complex at Celebration Pointe on Friday and Saturday.
The Saints had entries in the 60m, 400m, 800m, mile and 4x400 relay. As well as field entries in long jump and shot put.
Monique Whiteman gave top times for Flagler with a fourth place finish in the 800-meter run, as well as running the second leg in the 4x400 relay that placed fifth. Her personal-best 800-meter time of 2:16.73 ranks third in the conference and fifth in the region. The relay team of Maddi Hood, Whiteman, Clemence Treguer and Marissa Kempf finished with a time of 4:14.80 that puts them fourth in the conference and 12th in the region.
Hood and Kempf also competed in the 800-meter, finishing in sixth and 13th, respectively. Hood ran a personal-best time of 2:17.83 that ranks her fifth in the conference and seventh in the region. Kempf is ranked 9th in the conference and 14th in the region with her time of 2:21.90.
Treguer competed in the mile, earning a new personal-best time of 5:11.21 to place sixth. Her time ranks her fifth in the conference and 11th in the region.
In the 60-meter, freshmen Madison Miller (8.33) and Zoe Zinnie (8.46) finished 33rd and 37th, respectively, each earning season-best times. Meredith Czajkowski ran the 400-meter with a time of 1:03.59 to place 23rd. Zinnie and Czajkowski both competed in the long jump as well, tying for 19th with marks of 4.77m.
Makinzie Luhrsen finished in 17th in the shot put with a 9.48m throw.
The Saints split up and head to Allendale, Mich. for the GVSU Big Meet (Feb. 9-10) and back to Alachua County Sports Complex at Celebration Pointe for the Florida University Last Chance on Feb. 9.
