DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.–
Lexie Morton had a double hat trick leading No. 10 (IWLCA Division II Top 25 Poll) Flagler College past Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 11-10 this evening at the ERAU Lacrosse Field.
The Saints improved to 5-1 and handed the Eagles their first loss of the season as they are now 4-1.
Ella Pinder scored the first goal of the fourth quarter and two minutes later, Morton gave the Saints a 10-7 lead. Morton's goal with three minutes left proved to be the insurance goal as it staked Flagler to an 11-8 lead.
The Saints managed to dominate the first half ending it 8-4, with Morton scoring four goals, Pinder adding two, and
Sydney Onega and
Ally Miller each added a goal.
The Eagles managed to start to close the gap at the start of the third quarter shutting out the Saints and with Eliana Enners scoring three consecutive goals.
Pinder stood out defensively for the Saints as well winning four draw controls, collecting two ground balls, and causing a turnover.
Jenn Seebach and
Lauren Ribadeneira also held down the fort for Saints defense, with Seebach picking up five ground balls and causing a turnover and goalie Ribadeneira making seven saves and three ground balls.
The Eagles goalie Aubrey Fixen helped out her team by making nine saves tonight. Enners finished with five goals and an assist.
The Saints will be back on March 3 at 5 p.m. for a home game against No. 22 Assumption University.
