ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College finished in sixth place with a 29-over par 893 (301-287-305) at the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate, which concluded this afternoon at the St. Johns Golf & Country Club.
Top-ranked (clippd Division II Top 25) University of North Georgia topped the 20-team field with an 11-over 875 (285-289-301). The Nighthawks rallied from a two-stroke deficit to win the tournament. No. 18 Lander University finished in second place with a 13-over 877 (295-285-297). Lincoln Memorial University finished in third place and was followed by No. 8 Georgia Southwestern State University. Wingate University finished in fifth place.
Topping the 103-man field was Bernard Meyer of Columbus State who carded a 4-under 212 (68-69-75). He finished two strokes ahead of three golfers – Will Chambless of North Georgia, Will Locey of Belmont Abbey, and Hughes Threlkeld of North Georgia.
Leading the way for Flagler was
Joel Petersson. He finished in a tie for 21
st place with a 6-over 222 (78-68-76).
Nic Eberhard and
Abe Forsyth finished in a tie for 23
rd place with a 7-over 223.
Roo Fenwick and
Franco Piovano finished in 51
st and 53
rd places, respectively.
Matthew French, playing as an individual, carded a 21-over 237.
