CHAMPIONSGATE, Fla. – The No. 5-ranked (SCOREBOARD Division II Top 25) Flagler College women's golf team shot a 5-under par 283 to propel them to a three-stroke win with a three-round 4-over 868 (290-295-283) at the Rollins Legends Invitational, which concluded Monday at the ChampionsGate Country Club (par 72; 6,109 yards). That wraps up the fall season for the Saints.
Today's round (283) ties a program record for lowest round. The Saints shot that twice this season already – the final round of the Flagler Fall Slam (Oct. 22) and the first round of the St. Simons Intercollegiate (Oct. 14).
Flagler went 1-2-3 at the top of the leaderboard.
Stella Jelinek led the 58-woman field with a 3-under 213 (73-71-69) while
Jordyn Hodgson finished in second place with a 1-under 215 (72-74-69) and
Henriette Stranda followed with an even par 216 (71-76-69). Jelinek earned medalist honors for the first time this year and it was the sixth time in her career that she won an individual title. She had three birdies and 15 pars in the final round. Hodgson and Stranda each had five birdies and 11 pars.
Finishing behind Flagler was No. 4 Dallas Baptist University. The Patriots entered the day with a six-stroke lead, but finished with a 7-over 871 (292-287-292). No. 11 Saint Leo University finished in third place with an 18-over 882 (295-292-295). No. 7 Lynn University carded a 25-over 889 (296-295-298) and finished in fourth place. Seven teams in the field were ranked in the latest top 25.
There was a four-way tie for fourth place following the Saints trio.
Tabitha Hanely finished in 21
st place with an 8-over 224 (74-74-76).
Bhoomi Jagtap tied for 49
th place with a 21-over 237 (74-78-75).
