ST. AUGUSTINE –
Reiss Skeen's penalty kick got Flagler College on the board, but the Saints couldn't find the equalizer in the last 6:30 in a 2-1 loss to Florida Tech in a non-conference men's soccer match Saturday night at Saints Field.
Florida Tech won its fourth match in a row and improved to 6-2-0 overall. Flagler holds a 6-2-1 record.
The Panthers scored a pair of first half goals. Gene Lewis headed in a shot in the fourth minute while Filippo Fazzi blasted a shot to the far post in the 31
st minute. Fazzi and Matteo Ghirardelli's give-and-go inside the left side of the box set up the goal.
Toby McCallum drew the foul inside the box to get the penalty kick for Skeen. The Saints had a pair of shot on frame in the closing minutes, but both were saved.
Iker Bastida recorded five saves for Florida Tech.
Ryan Rivas collected two for Flagler.
The Saints out-shot the Panthers 11-8 and held a slim 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
