MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Flagler College men's golf team finished in fifth place with a 9-over par 861 (290-283-288) at the Milton Makeup, which concluded today at the Miami Shores Country Club (par 71; 6,705 yards).

This tournament took the place of the cancelled Copperhead Championship at Innisbrook, Oct. 14-15, at Pensacola, Florida. Hurricane Milton was the cause of the cancellation.

Joel Petersson moved up 16 spots on the leaderboard thanks to a 3-under 68 in the final round. He recorded four pars and had an eagle on the par-5, 502-yard 13^th hole. Petersson finished in a tie for 12^th place with a 1-under 212 (73-71-68). His final round score and his 54-hole score were season-bests.

Lee University trailed by seven strokes coming into the final round and wound up winning by four strokes. The Flames carded a 6-under 278 today and finished with a 14-under 838 (285-275-278). Barry University, the leader going into the day, shot a 5-over 289 and finished the three-round tournament with a 10-under 842 (281-272-289). Nova Southeastern University finished in third place with an 8-under 844 (279-281-284). Valdosta State University completed the tournament with a 5-under 847 (281-278-288).
 
Drew Zielinski finished atop the 53-man leaderboard with an 11-under 202 (68-65-69). Two individual golfers from Florida Gulf Coast University finished in second and third places. Sebastian Gamboa carded a 9-under 204 (68-71-65) and was followed by Christian Figueredo who shot an 8-under 205 (67-68-70).  

Nic Eberhard finished in a tie for 17^th place for the Saints. He turned in an even par 213 (73-71-75). Julio Goti tied for 26^th place with a 4-over 217 (74-71-72). Rocco Randazzo held steady at 35^th place with a 6-over 219 (74-72-73). Dylan Mason carded a 12-over 225 (77-72-76).  

The Saints return to the golf course next week at the Citrus Intercollegiate (Oct. 28-29) at the Championsgate Golf Club in Orlando, Florida.
