GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Flagler College women's indoor track and field team competed at the Florida Collegiate Invitational at the Alachua County Sports Complex at Celebration Pointe on Friday and Saturday.

The Saints had entries in the 800m, mile, 5000m and distance medley relay (DMR). As well as field entries in long jump and shot put.

Abby Misch had a great showing for the Saints, earning a first place finish in the 800-meter run. Her time of 2:13.36 beat the field by three seconds and hit the NCAA provisional mark. She leads the conference and region, as well as ranking 21st in the nation. Misch also ran in the third leg of the DMR, helping the Saints finish first with a time of 11:55.77. The relay team of Taylor Stone, Maddi Hood, Misch and Monique Whiteman also hit an NCAA provisional mark, ranking eighth in the nation, and topping the conference and region.

Three other Saints ran in the 800-meter with Hood (2:23.02) and Lea Steinbach (2:23.60) finishing 8th and 9th respectively. Mattie Culver finished 15th with a time of 2:29.19. In the mile, two Saints finished in the top 15. Marissa Kempf finished 11th with a time of 5:18.62 and Sam Gayton finished 15th with a time of 5:29.52.

The 5000-meter run had seven Flagler runners competing. Four of those finished in a row starting in sixth place with Chloe Smith (18:41.41). Clemence Treguer (18:41.48), Enola Savel (18:41.66) and Megan Churchill (18:42.25) finished in seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively.

"We are in a good spot right now, with a few more chances to improve our marks before the national championships," said head coach Brian Beil. "We have some work to do yet, but I feel good about where we are at this point in the season."

Zoe Zinnie and Makinzie Luhrsen competed in the field events for Flagler. Zinnie earned seventh in the long jump with a 4.94m jump. Luhrsen finished 10th in the long jump with a 4.71m jump and threw 9.59m in the shot put, putting her at a 16th place finish.

The Saints head back to the Alachua County Sports Complex at Celebration Pointe for the Celebration Pointe Indoor Classic on Feb. 2-3.
