PENSACOLA, Fla. –
Andrea Fernandez' penalty kick in the 60
th minute tied the score at 1-all and that's how it ended as No. 10 (United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25) Flagler College visited No. 9 University of West Florida Saturday afternoon at the UWF Soccer Complex.
Both teams are now 2-0-1 on the season.
West Florida's Mya Swinton opened the scoring when she converted a penalty kick attempt in the 20
th minute.
Andrea Fernandez led the Saints with five shots.
Henley Grunst recorded four saves.
Manami Okada finished with four shots for the Argonauts. Maciah Lipsey tallied three saves.
West Florida held a 16-11 advantage in shots as well as a 9-5 edge in corner kicks.
Flagler plays its home opener on Wednesday against Eckerd College at 5 p.m. at Saints Field.
