ST. AUGUSTINE – Four different Flagler College players scored a goal in a 4-4 tie with longtime rival Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in a non-conference men's soccer match Tuesday night at Saints Field.
Flagler is now 0-1-1 overall and tonight was Embry-Riddle's season opener.
It was a tale of two halves as the Saints held a 3-1 lead after the first 45 minutes.
Morgan Miller,
Liam Fisch, and
Filip Sparavec all scored goals in the first half for Flagler. Miller finished with a goal and two assists.
Marcus Hedemann gave Flagler a 4-1 lead after his goal in the 62
nd minute.
But the Eagles rallied and scored three goals in the span of 3-minutes and 30-seconds. Jacob Callahan scored the second of his two goals in the 78
th minute to tie the match. He booted home a misdirected cross by Flagler's keeper.
Kevin Harr tallied for saves for the Saints while Ferriol Caballe i Vila also finished with four saves for the Eagles.
Flagler out-shot Embry-Riddle 14-13 and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Flagler will venture out on the road for the first time on Saturday at Florida Tech in Melbourne. Kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Rick Stottler Field.
