ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – No. 4 (ITA Collegiate Division II rankings) Flagler College recorded its second consecutive shutout with a 7-0 victory over Northwood University in a non-conference men's tennis match Monday afternoon at the Flagler Tennis Center.
Flagler won its third match in a row to improve to 5-3 overall while Northwood dropped to 0-7.
In doubles play,
Jacopo Denitto and
Jagger Ong-Patzwald opened with a 6-3 win, but Northwood took No. 1 doubles. It all came down to No. 3 doubles where
Pavlos Parson and
Fernando Bulnes got the team point for the Saints with a 6-4 win.
Flagler made a clean sweep of the singles matches with all but one coming in straight sets.
Nikita Tatyanin's 6-2, 6-3 win over Max Wild at No. 1 singles clinched the team win.
Up next for the Saints is Northwood University of Michigan on Monday (March 6) at 2 p.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center.
