ST. AUGUSTINE – The No. 5 (ITA Division II Collegiate Tennis Rankings) Flagler College women's tennis team coasted to a 6-1 win over Northwood University in a non-conference match at the Flagler Tennis Center Monday afternoon.
Flagler improved its record to 4-3 while Northwood dropped to 2-5.
The Saints won all three doubles matches and the team point was clinched after
Laura Jipescu and
Nadja Meier won 6-4 at No. 2.
Dana Heimen and
Luisa Hrda rolled to a 6-1 win at No. 1 while
Eryka Kruk and
Addison Skye Breunich won 6-4.
Flagler went on to win five of the six singles matches. The team match wrapped up quickly as No. 13
Nadja Meier, No. 6
Luisa Hrda and No. 30
Dana Heimen all won by identical 6-1 and 6-0 scores.
Eryka Kruk and
Charlotta Buss each recorded straight sets wins.
Up next for the Saints is Lee University on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center.
