No. 15 Flagler falls to No. 8 Columbus State

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – No. 8 (ITA Collegiate Division II rankings) Columbus State University defeated No. 15 Flagler College 5-2 in a Peach Belt Conference men's tennis match Saturday afternoon at the Flagler Tennis Center.

Columbus State improved to 8-2 overall and 1-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler is now 10-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The Cougars won all three doubles matches to earn the first point of the day.

The Saints squared the match at 1-all after Philipp Lemken knocked off No. 75 Pietro Martinetti in straight sets. Later, Petr Cervinka's win at No. 3 singles cut the deficit to 3-2. But Columbus State won the last two singles matches.

Flagler heads north next weekend to face the University of North Georgia (April 1) and Young Harris College (April 2).
