YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – No. 16 (ITA Collegiate Division II rankings) Flagler College rolled to a 6-1 win over No. 39 Young Harris College in a Peach Belt Conference men's tennis match Sunday afternoon at the Bob and Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
Flagler improved to 11-5 overall and 2-1 in the Peach Belt. Young Harris lost its third match in a row and dropped to 9-6 overall as well as 0-2 in conference play.
The Saints swept all three doubles matches to earn the first team point of the match.
Flagler won five-of-the-six singles matches and two of those were in straight sets. No. 29
Nikita Tatyanin cruised to a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles.
Petr Cervinka won his match at No. 3 by the same 6-3, 6-3 score. That was Cervinka's sixth consecutive win.
Philipp Lemken,
Pavlos Parson, and
Fernando Bulnes all won their matches in three sets.
Flagler takes on No. 21 University of North Georgia tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the UNG Tennis Complex.
