ST. AUGUSTINE – Tyler Douglas scored four goals, leading Flagler College in tonight's men's lacrosse game against Saint Leo University. Despite a hard and close fight, the Saints fell 13-11 to the Lions.
The Saints are now 2-6 overall and the Lions advance to 4-3.
The Saints and Lions stayed neck-and-neck the entire first quarter ending it 4-3, Lions. The Saints came back in the second quarter scoring five unanswered goals to end the first half with an 8-6 lead.
Justin Williams helped the Lions pull ahead in the end scoring four goals in the game. Lions goalie Chase Strait also had a stand out performance with 16 saves.
The Flagler defense held their own in tonight's game with
Brendan Watson causing three turnovers and
Garrett Moore causing two.
Matt Mitrega picked up four groundballs and won nine faceoffs to help maintain possession of the ball for the Saints tonight.
The Lions managed to score seven goals in the second half to bring them over the edge to win.
The Saints will be back March 14 at 7 p.m. for a home game against Quincy University.
