MORROW, Ga. –
Malik Bryant led five Flagler College players in double-figures with 21 points in an 80-77 win over Clayton State University in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at The Loch.
Flagler improved to 12-14 overall and 6-9 in the Peach Belt. Clayton State fell to 3-22 overall and 1-14 in conference play.
Omar Figueroa's three-pointer with 40 seconds left to go in regulation gave the Saints a 78-77 lead. He finished the game with 14 points.
Jaylen Lemons added a pair of free throws to provide the final tally.
Clayton State scored its last basket, a three-pointer by Wes Williams, with 2:28 to go in the game and missed all three attempts in the contest, all from long range.
Kyle Young added 15 points and six rebounds for the Saints.
Jax Bouknight supplied 13 points and three steals while Lemons chipped in with 11 points.
Tyler Collier grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
Flagler made 21-of-27 free throw attempts and Bryant led the way as he sank 9-of-10.
Brian Coffey II led the Lakers with 21 points and eight assists. Kobie Johnson added 13 points and five assists while Williams contributed 12 points. Ricardo Saams, Jr. finished with nine points and nine rebounds.
Flagler hosts No. 15 (NABC Division II Top 25) Augusta University this Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
