KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The awards keep rolling in for
Andrea Fernandez who was named United Soccer Coaches College Player of the Week announced by the association Wednesday.
Fernandez, a native of Pozoblanco, Spain tallied eight points on four goals to help the Saints to a 2-0 week with wins over the University of Tampa (Sept. 20) and Georgia College & State University (Sept. 24). Her strong performance also earned her Academy Bus Player of the Week and Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

The sophomore scored both goals in the 2-1 win against Tampa. She scored in the 29
th minute with an assist fromÂ
Elke Fernandez and then tallied the game-winning goal on a penalty kick in the 85
th minute. Fernandez also scored the final two goals in the 3-0 win against GCSU Saturday. Her goals in the 29
th and 67
th minute were both unassisted.

Fernandez leads the Peach Belt Conference in goals (9), game-winning goals (3) and points (18). She has earned PBC Player of the Week honors three times so far this season. This marks Fernandez's first weekly honor by the United Soccer Coaches and Flagler's second weekly honor in the program's history after
Josefine Nilsen earned Player of the Week honors by the association in 2021.

The Saints return to action Monday, Oct. 3 for a conference match at Clayton State University in Morrow, Georgia at 11 a.m.
