MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The No. 11 ranked Flagler College women's soccer team fell, 5-1, in a mid-week match at Barry University Wednesday night.

Ashley Martin. "We started the game brightly, but Barry was clinical, and they took their chances when they had them. The staff and players alike are hurt by the result tonight, but we are eager to get back to winning ways on Monday."

The Buccaneers got on the board early and netted a goal in the game's first seven minutes with a shot from Ellen Cederin. Barry carried a 2-0 lead into the second half after Madison Paster extended their lead with a goal in the 22nd minute.

With just a minute into the second half, Mckenna Delong had a penalty kick opportunity for the Buccaneers and made it a 3-0 game after she hit the bottom right of the net. Paster then netted her second goal of the day in the 61st minute to stretch Barry's lead to 4-0.

Flagler's
Ellise Rennie received a long kick from
Liz Hall from the left sideline, sent in a shot 12 yards out from the goal and scored her first collegiate goal to set a 4-1 score in the 73rd minute. Barry answered back in the final eight minutes of the match to finalize the 5-1 score.Â

The Buccaneers held the advantage in shots (17-11) and corners (7-5). In the net,
Madison North tied her career-high seven saves while Emily Parrott made five stops for Barry.

The Saints host No. 18 Florida Tech in their first home game of the season Monday, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. on Saints Field.
