FLORENCE, S.C. - The Flagler College men's soccer team dropped a road game at Francis Marion University, 3-1, Saturday evening.

The first 42 minutes of the game was a battle of possession, with the Saints taking six shots to the Patriots' three. In the 43rd minute,
Kohta Uchida scored his first collegiate goal for the Saints after receiving a feed on the right side from
Jared Fuentes. Uchida sent his shot 10 yards out from the middle of the box and hit the back of the net to give Flagler a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Francis Marion evened the score in the 64th minute with Luis Villarreal's goal after he received a feed from Hugo Jonsson. Villarreal was 15 yards out when he sent in the shot with the outside of his foot to hit the far corner.

The next twenty minutes remained tied until Alvaro Zamora gave the Patriots a 2-1 lead on a penalty kick. The Saints'
Tirso Trueba made the correct decision and dove towards the right side of the cage, but Zamora snuck his shot in through the right post and past Trueba. Francis Marion sealed the 3-1 lead with a goal by Jhancarlo Palma, assisted by Zamora, in the 87th minute.

The Patriots edged the Saints in shots (12-10) while the Saints held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Francis Marion's Andrea Scapolo made four saves in the goal, while Trueba made two stops for Flagler.

Flagler hits the road for its third-straight away game Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, Fla. at 7 p.m.
