DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Flagler College women's track and field team put the Peach Belt Conference on notice following its debut at the Peach Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship Friday.

Head coach Brian Beil's squad opened the meet, with the 10000m race, just as well as he could have asked.

Therese Schuhenn took home first place, which earns her First Team All-PBC, with a time of 39:04.77. She was 12 seconds ahead of second place, teammate Jessie Mescal, who crossed the finish line with a time of 39:16.16, which earns her Second Team All-PBC honors.

Enola Savel came in fourth — just barely being bested by the University of North Georgia's Karmen LaRoy by .07 seconds — for a time of 39:19.26. The other Saint to cross the finish line was Riley Carter, who recorded a time of 43:17.77.

The other event that Flagler had a presence in was the 1500m later in the day. Flagler finished in seventh, eighth and ninth, with Marissa Kempf (4:49.39), Megan Churchill (4:52.00) and Monika Kubai (4:53.29) making up the trio.
