ORLANDO, Fla. – The Flagler College women's track and field team returned to Orlando for the second consecutive weekend to compete in the Knights Invite, hosted by the University of Central Florida.
Over the course of two days, Flagler competed in four events, 400m, 800m, 1500m and the 5000m.
Jessie Mescal was the only Saint to compete in the 5000m, in which she brought home 8
th place with a time of 17:59.02.
Maddi Hood and
Madison Peele represented the Crimson and Gold in the 400m. Hood recorded a time of 1:03.24 while Peele finished in 1:05.24.
The 800m saw six Saints take to the track. Leading the way for Flagler was Hood, who finished in 17
th with a final mark of 2:22.93.
Marissa Kempf concluded her race, finishing with a time of 2:25.65. Peele and
Olivia Farley finished back-to-back, posting times of 2:27.28 and 2:27.62.
Lea Steinbach posted a time of 2:28.59 while
Riley Carter recorded a time of 2:37.65.
The contingent to run in the 1500m was made up of six runners in Kempf,
Monika Kubai,
Megan Churchill,
Sam Gayton,
Isabella Santeufemio and
Madeline Rodriguez. Kempf and Kubai finished in 14
th and 15
th with times of 4:53.09 and 4:54.03 respectively. Churchill posted a time of 4:56.98, which was good for 19
th. Gayton recorded a time of 5:04.64 while Santeufemio and Rodriguez posted times of 5:19.42 and 5:22.37.
Flagler is set to compete again next weekend, April 1-2, at the Eagle Invitational, hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
