TAMPA, Fla –
Geraint Shaw and
Dylan Wilson each netted two goals as Flagler College suffered a non-conference setback Tuesday afternoon at No. 1 University of Tampa, 6-17, at Naimoli Family Athletic Complex.
The Saints fall to 0-9, but this contest provides the young team valuable experience as they gear up for Peach Belt Conference play next Saturday when Young Harris College comes to the Ancient City. The Spartans continue their perfect season, improving to 8-0.
The Spartans scored the first five goals to open up a lead that they would never surrender.
Colten Reynolds got the Saints on the board with 9:10 minutes left. Tampa responded with an eight-goal run of its own to open up a 13-2 lead midway through the third quarter.
Ty Tom pitched in a goal while
Thomas Pritchard and
Aaron Habisch each dished out an assist.
Flagler returns to Flagler Lacrosse Field for its final non-conference game on Friday when No. 20 Colorado Mesa University for an 11 a.m. contest.
