ST AUGUSTINE, Fla. – No. 19 Flagler College notched its fifth straight victory with a 6-1 win over the University of Montevallo at the Flagler Tennis Center Monday afternoon.
Flagler improved to 8-3, while Montevallo dropped to 3-5.
The Saints swept the opening doubles matches for the fifth consecutive match. At first doubles,
Philipp Lemken and
Oscar Del Granado earned their first bagel of the season as a duo.
Nikita Tatyanin and Jagger Ong-Patzwad teamed up for a 6-1 win at second doubles, their fourth consecutive win. For the first time this season,
Petr Cervinka and
Diego Amilibia paired up and held down third doubles with a 6-2 win.
In singles play, Del Granado continued his strong play at first singles, handing his opponent his first double bagel of the year, his fifth win of the year. No. 73 Tatyanin cruised to his fifth straight win, posting a 6-2, 6-2 victory at second singles.
Cervinka held down third singles with a 6-0, 6-2 victory. The first set blank is his third 6-0 set score of the year.
Jacopo Denitto made his debut at fifth singles and came out on top with a 6-1, 7-6 (0) result. No. 61 Lemken bounced back with a 7-5, 6-4 win at fifth singles.
Flagler now begins to prepare for a showdown at No. 1 Barry University this coming Saturday, March 26 at 11 a.m.
