ST. AUGUSTINE — In an exhibition rematch from the beginning of February, the 18th-ranked Flagler College men's tennis team and second-ranked Keiser University dualed off again as the NAIA powerhouse Seahawks pulled away with a 6-1 victory.
The loss was the Saints' first of the season, moving them to 3-1 overall, while Keiser improved to 9-2. This result doesn't affect Flagler's ranking as the Seahawks are in a different division as a member of NAIA.
Nikita Tatyanin highlighted Flagler's singles play as he won his fourth consecutive match on court two. The junior secured the Saints' lone win — behind his straight-set victory — to knot the score at 1-all following the Seahawks' doubles point.
Flagler battled in singles, winning the first set on every court but six; unfortunately, the Seahawks were able to take the next two sets outsite of Tatyanin.
The Saints will be back in action with another nationally-ranked opponent when Saint Leo comes to town Saturday at 1 p.m.
