Tori Pearce after 41-point game and triple double on Senior Day

Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Pearce records second triple-double of the season on Senior Night

ST. AUGUSTINE – Tori Pearce had a memorable last home game as she scored a career high 41 points and finished her second triple-double of the season with 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead Flagler College to a 103-68 romp over Georgia College in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Wednesday night, on "Senior Night," at Flagler Gymnasium.

Flagler snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 12-15 overall and 6-11 in the Peach Belt. Georgia College suffered its fourth consecutive defeat and dropped to 8-18 overall and 5-12 in conference play.

"I was really proud of how our ladies played today," said head coach Mo Smith. "It was great for our seniors to play their last home game and have it end on a good note."

The Saints honored their seniors Pearce, Jaziana Mathis, Staci Miller, and Sadie Russell.

Pearce had a triple-double on Jan. 29, 2022 against then-No. 5 (WBCA Division II Top 25) Lander University as she had 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

The Saints used a 13-2 run to end the first quarter and went into the early part of the second to wipe out a 16-13 deficit. Sharale McCormick made three baskets in that spurt and finished the game with a season-high 20 points. She completed her second double-double of the year with a game-high 11 rebounds. McCormick made 10-of-12 from the field.

Later, a pair of transition layups by Pearce staked Flagler to a 34-23 lead and took a 49-34 advantage into the half. Pearce finished the game with a career high seven steals.

Flagler poured it on in the fourth quarter out-scoring Georgia College 32-15.

Mathis added 14 points and had four assists.

The Saints forced 22 Bobcat turnovers and turned those into 36 points.

Alexa Geary led four Georgia College players in double-figures with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Harper Vick added 12 points while Ashyia Willis and Anaya Cone each supplied 10 points.

Flagler closes out the regular season on Saturday at No. 8 Lander.
