WINTER PARK, Fla. — Another in-region test came Saturday afternoon for the 18th-ranked Flagler College men's tennis team.
Unlike the previous two wins to begin the season, the Saints were unable to capture the doubles' point but they made up for it in singles en route to a 5-2 victory over Rollins College at Copeland Stadium in Winter Park, Fla.
Petr Cervinka and
Cedric Holzmann won on courts three and five, respectively, to take the lead before Rollins (0-2) evened the count in top singles. From there, Flagler (3-0) didn't lose another point to secure its third straight victory.
Nikita Tatyanin followed up with a gritty three-set win on court two as
Jacopo Denitto followed suit with his first collegiate victory and
Philipp Lemken won on court four. Lemken and Holzmann were the lone Saints duo to win in doubles.
Flagler will be back in action Wednesday when it hosts NAIA powerhouse Keiser University for a 2 p.m. match at the Flagler Tennis Center.
