ST. AUGUSTINE — The Flagler College men's tennis team secured its second straight victory as the Saints defeated Florida Southern College, 6-1, at the Flagler Tennis Center Wednesday afternoon.
Flagler (2-0) took the momentum early and never let up. The duo of
Oscar Del Granado and
Petr Cervinka clinched the doubles' point on court one after
Nikita Tatyanin and
Jagger Ong-Patzwald snagged the first point. It was the duo of
Philipp Lemken and
Cedric Holzmann, who gritted out a 6-4 victory on court three to sweep the Mocs (0-2).
The Saints won the match in convincing fashion as Tatyanin and Lemken won on courts two and four, respectively, before Holzmann clinched the match on court six. Ong-Patzwald wasn't able to pull out his match, giving Florida Southern its lone point, but it was the only one the Mocs would see.
Cervinka took the win on court three, and then Del Granado grinded out his win on court one to hand the Saints a 6-1 victory and their second straight.
