Monique Whiteman represents Flagler at NCAA Cross Country Championship

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash.- Monique Whiteman ran a 22:59.4 6K at the NCAA Cross Country Championship on Friday.
 
Whiteman secured 180th out of 262 runners. The course proved difficult due to snowy and low temperatures leading up to the race day.
 
Stephanie Cotter, a junior at Adams State University, took first with a time of 19:45.2. Adams State earned first out of 34 teams with 75 points overall.
 
The race concludes Whiteman's cross country season as the sophomore will transition into training for indoor track.
 
Whiteman is coming off a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Cross Country Championship, which was held at Wingate University on Nov.19. Whiteman ran the 6K course with a time of 22:24.0.
