KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two Flagler College women's soccer players have been recognized by the United Soccer Coaches association as Andrea Fernandez and Josefine Nilsen were named to All-Southeast Region teams, the organization announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
Fernandez earns her second straight USCA All-Southeast Region First Team honor. The sophomore also earned Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Women's Soccer Southeast Region Player of the Year for the second straight year and a spot on the D2CCA All-Southeast Region First Team. 
 
The Pozoblanco, Spain native highlighted the Peach Belt Conference awards as she was named the Offensive Player of the Year and the Select Gold Ball Award winner for the second straight year, the PBC Tournament Most Valuable Player, while also earning All-PBC First Team nods. 
 
Fernandez scored 20 goals and dished out eight assists for a total of 48 points. Her 2.53 points per game average ties first in NCAA Division II while her 1.05 goals per game average ranks fourth in the nation. Her six game-winning goals are tied for fifth in Division II. 
 
Nilsen earned USCA All-Southeast Region Second Team honors, marking her second career honor from the association. The senior also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors and All-PBC Second Team honors. Nilsen, a Farjestaden, Sweden native, ranked second on the squad with 14 points on five goals and four assists. Nilsen made 18 starts in 19 appearances with 1328 minutes played.
