WINGATE, N.C. –
Jordan Berglin recorded a team-high 11 kills, but Flagler College was swept (25-14, 25-13, 25-23) by No. 25 (AVCA Division II) Wingate University in the championship match of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Sunday afternoon at Cuddy Arena.
Flagler concluded the season with a 20-10 record. Wingate won its eighth consecutive match and improved to 32-2. The Bulldogs advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship at Seattle, Washington.
Berglin had seven of her 11 kills in the final set.
Cecilia Robert added six kills for the Saints and
Kennedy Muff tallied 20 assists.
Edie Lamoreaux recorded nine digs and had two aces. Berglin, Muff and
Logan Garcia were named to the all-tournament team.
Maggie Young and Gabby Saye each recorded eight kills for the Bulldogs. Young hit .727 as she had 11 errorless swings. Victoria Wilform added seven kills while Emily Johnson had six kills, six digs and six total blocks. Shannon Kasprak tallied 34 assists.
The Bulldogs finished with a .326 hitting percentage as they had 37 kills and eight errors on 89 swings.
