FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –
Sara Pedraza and
Buse Utku both had season-highs in points with 13 and 12 points, respectively, in Flagler College's 96-56 loss to Nova Southeastern University in a non-conference women's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Rick Case Arena.
Nova Southeastern remains undefeated at 3-0 while Flagler is now 1-3. The Saints will play their home opener on Tuesday against Florida Tech at 5 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
After a
Sophie VanDyke layup cut the Sharks' lead to four (23-19) in the second quarter, Nova Southeastern closed the quarter on a 19-6 run to take a 42-25 lead into halftime.
N'Mya Pierce added eight points and grabbed a team-high six rebounds for Flagler.
Maddie Erickson finished with eight points and three blocked shots.
Sarei McGill led five NSU players in double-figures with 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field. Hailey Conley added 13 points and seven rebounds while Alexus Bryant chipped in with 12 points and eight rebounds.
