JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The No. 20 Flagler College men's tennis team had a challenging Wednesday at the University of North Florida as the Division I product Ospreys won the rescheduled match, 7-0.
"We lost against a good UNF team today," Flagler head coach
Thomas Hipp said. "In some matches, we had chances to pull them off but did not capitalize on opportunities. UNF was too strong today for us. Hopefully we bounce back on Saturday versus AUM."
The Saints will now prepare for a two-match road trip to Montgomery, Alabama for a match versus the Auburn University at Montgomery on Saturday at 11 a.m., before heading to Columbus, Georgia, for a conference match with No. 1 Columbus State University.
Nikita Tatyanin was the lone Saint to pull out a set victory for Flagler (4-6) as he took set two in the No. 1 singles match versus Dominik Barton, 6-2. He was then edged in the third set much like
Philipp Lemken, who nearly took set two on the No. 3 court, before losing the tiebreaker, 7-4.
