ALBANY, Ga. – Albany State University pitching held Flagler College to one hit over seven innings to earn an 8-2 win in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday afternoon at Golden Rams Field.
Albany State improved to 8-4 overall while Flagler slipped to 5-12.
Brock Rountree (1-0) retired the first seven batters he faced and did not allow a hit in his four innings of work. He walked two and struck out three.
Jake Kaufman broke up the no-hitter when he led off the sixth inning with a single to center.
Wyatt Setian belted a two-run home run for the Golden Rams in the fourth inning. Albany State added an RBI single later in the inning to take a 3-0 lead.
The Golden Rams added a single run in the seventh and four runs in the eighth, only two of which were earned.
Chasen Roulhac collected a pair of singles, scored a run, and drove in another.
Kaufman had two of Flagler's four hits, and he scored a run.
Chris Monteleone (0-1) took the loss in relief for the Saints. He faced four batters in the fourth inning and allowed three runs on two hits. Flagler used nine different pitchers.
Flagler heads to USC Aiken for a three-game series starting Friday at 6 p.m.
