EDMOND, Okla. — The fifth-seeded Flagler College women's tennis team wrapped up its stay at the ITA National Indoor Championship with its second top-10 matchup Sunday inside the Edmond Center Court.
This one came versus the third-seeded University of West Florida and after the Argonauts won the doubles point, the Saints gained momentum with the first two singles points. Unfortunately for No. 10 Flagler, it didn't see another point in its column as No. 7 West Florida (5-1) won the next three to go on to win, 4-2. The Saints finish in sixth place in the tournament.
"I believe this lost really upsets us; it's a hard one to swallow," Flagler head coach
Rodrigo Puebla said. "We came out with great energy and were very excited to be playing another top-10 team. "We had plenty of opportunities to get take the lead, but we weren't able to capitalize. "We learned a lot this past weekend and how to manage our emotions under pressure, and I hope it helps our girls to get stronger for the rest of our season."

Amelie Vossgaetter were the pair of Saints to pull out wins on the No. 2 and No. 5 courts, respectively. In No. 1 singles,
Eden Schlagenhauf battled back from a set-one loss against last year's top-overall player Berta Bonardi and almost took the second set before falling in a tiebreaker.
Up Next: Flagler (3-2) will be back in action versus Delta State University Sunday, March 6 at 9 a.m.
