ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — In its first match removed from the ITA National Indoor Championships, the No. 10-ranked Flagler College women's tennis team secured a 5-2 win over Northwood University at the Flagler Tennis Center Friday.
 
The Saints (4-2) will aim for its second straight win when they host Delta State University Sunday at 9 a.m.
 
Flagler got off to a fast start in doubles as the new combo of Eden Schlagenhauf/Anika Nissen took the opening point and Alessandra Traub/Florencia Massardo Brain clinched the doubles point. The duo of Paloma Martinez/Amelie Vossgaetter took the final doubles point for the sweep.
 
In singles, Schlagenhauf bounced back from a tough loss in her last match with a convincing straight-set win. Nissen was next with back-to-back set wins, while Traub clinched the match win in the third set and Vossgaetter rallied from a set-two loss to a third-set, tie-breaking win (11-9).
