PEMBROKE, N.C. –
N'Mya Pierce led four Flagler College players in double figures with 18 points in a 69-65 win over UNC Pembroke in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball game Monday afternoon at Lumbee Bank Court.
This was Flagler's second consecutive win over UNCP, having won Saturday (70-66). The Saints improved to 6-7 overall and 5-6 in the Peach Belt. The Braves dropped to 2-10 overall and 2-9 in conference play.
"I was extremely proud of how our ladies played today," said head coach
Mo Smith. This was one of our best team performances all year. We really played together on both ends of the floor. It showed with our balanced scoring attack and getting key stops."
Flagler held an 11-point (56-45) lead after a Pierce short jumper early in the fourth quarter.
UNC Pembroke sank three 3-pointers to cut the deficit to a basket (56-54).
